The Harriers was situated at West End and is now in residential use. |

I was born at home in The
Harriers on 24th October 1967. My mum and dad, Diana and Eric were Landlord
and Landlady there. I don't remember much as I was quite young when we moved
from there to Luton where mum and dad took over the running of the TUC Club,
which I remember was near t Vauxhall Motors (I'm not sure if that is also
closed now too
I have vague memories of the bar and its big heavy wooden furniture at The
Harriers and the family rooms upstairs which came down through a door into
the main bar area. I can also picture the kitchen where mum cooked and a a
long yard with outbuildings. There was a shop down the road and mum was
friendly with 2 ladies called Dylis and Litsy (I remember them due to the
unusual names). |
