  Unissued certificate number 973 from the 1910s in this West Virginia coal mining company. Ornate green  border together with a vignette of Pocahontas saving John Smith.

The company was originally formed as the Southwest Virginia Improvement Company, in 1880 to open and operate a coal mine and build the mining town of Pocahontas at the terminus of the Norfolk and Western Railroad line in Tazewell County, Virginia. Reorganized in 1917 as the Pocahontas Consolidated Collieries Company, it later became the Pocahontas Fuel Company.
